FAQ for the Adoption of
Abiding Love Baptist Church

Q - How did we learn about this opportunity?
  • 2 months ago, the Kansas City Blue River Baptist Association (KCBRBA) shared with Pastor Chris that there was a 23-year-old church at a crossroads. Due to health complications with the pastor and limited capacity in the attenders, Abiding Love Baptist Church (ALBC) in Harrisonville, MO, would either close its doors or be willing to be adopted by another church.

Q - Why did Abiding Love Baptist Church choose to be adopted?
  • Even with its current challenges, ALBC still wants to see its community impacted by Jesus. Their heart is to preach the whole Word of God and love people where they are.

Q - Why did the Kansas City Blue River Baptist Association choose LifeQuest Church?
  • The KCBRBA knows the incredible impact that LifeQuest Church is having in our community and recognized that ALBC has a similar heart, mission, and values of LQC.

Q - Is Abiding Love Baptist Church ready to be adopted by another church?
  • Yes! Over the past year, ALBC has been working with the KCBRBA and is excitedly and prayerfully looking forward to God bringing the right church along.

Q - Why does LifeQuest Church think this is the right opportunity to take?
  • First, the leadership of LQC has held this opportunity loosely and prayed continuously for God to “close the door” if this wasn’t the direction He has for LQC. We’ve found the opposite to be happening. God has opened door after door, and we continue to see God moving in this opportunity. Secondly, Pastor Chris has sought counsel and advice from many sources, and the whole of the Board of Overseers and Board of Directors fully support this opportunity.

Q - Will Abiding Love Baptist Church become LifeQuest Church?
  • Yes! ALBC will be renamed LifeQuest Harrisonville (LQH). They will operate as a campus of LifeQuest Church.

Q - How quickly will the Harrisonville church be changed? Will the current attenders be displaced?
  • It is with love, care, and respect that we honor all that ALBC and its leaders have done in Harrisonville. Change will happen, but it will be done with intentionality. We will make it our goal that every attender of ALBC feels welcomed into the LQC Family.

Q - Who is handling the legal issues when it comes to the adoption, building, financials, etc?
  • LQC is working closely with the KCBRBA and our lawyer, Mike Whitehead, to ensure everything is done above reproach and in the most God-honoring way. We have, or will have, clear documentation in all areas as we move forward with this opportunity.

Q - How will leadership look at LifeQuest Harrisonville?
  • Pastor Chris will continue to be the Lead Pastor of LifeQuest Church as a whole and continue to be the main Preaching Pastor at the Belton Campus (LQB). Pastor Jordan will shift roles and operate as the Campus Pastor. He will do a majority of the preaching at the Harrisonville Campus on Sunday mornings.

Q - What will Sunday mornings look like at LifeQuest Harrisonville
  1. LQH’s Worship Experience will be at 10:30 am on Sunday mornings. The message notes will match what LQB is preaching on. Many of the events LQB offers will also be offered to LQH (Men’s/Women’s Retreats, Church at the Lake, FPU, etc.)

Q - How does this affect LifeQuest Church financially?
  • ALBC’s current tithes and offerings are enough to sustain their bills and mortgage, so as the campus grows, we predict it can become even more self-sustaining. Pastor Jordan has committed to a 1-year term as Campus Pastor, with the goal of bringing on a part-time Campus Pastor in 2027

Q - Where is ALBC located?
  • Located 5 minutes north of the Harrisonville Square and across from a growing subdivision at 7 Hwy. and EE. 24300 East, State Hwy EE, Harrisonville, MO 64701

Q - When will it become official that LQC is adopting ALBC?
  • On Sunday, February 1st, 2026, the ALBC Board will vote if they will allow LQC to be the church that adopts them and brings their legacy into the next chapter. Pastor Chris and Pastor Robbie (Board of Overseers) will be there representing LQC.

Q - How can I help support the adoption of Abiding Love Baptist Church and the start of the new Harrisonville Campus
  • First, please begin to pray. We want to see God continue to move and be glorified in this opportunity. Second, over the next few weeks, come visit us on a Sunday morning. We’d love for you to see the facility and meet the amazing people of the ALBC attenders as they are welcomed into the LifeQuest Church family. Third, invite people you know who live in the area and need to find a church home like LQC. Lastly, consider giving above your tithe and offering to specifically support LQH. There will need to be updating, as the facility will need care in regards to fresh paint, signage, etc.

Q - Can I start attending LQH regularly?
  • Absolutely! We’d love to start off strong with a crew of LifeQuesters, called the Catalyst Team, to help build the mission, values, and culture at LQH. Click HERE to sign up on the  Ready2Serve page, select Harrisonville Campus Catalyst Team

Q - What would being on the Catalyst Team require?
  • A Catalyst Team member would commit to helping launch the Harrisonville campus and establish it in the community. We’re asking for a 1-year commitment to:
    1. Create connections with our Legacy Friends currently attending ALBC and bring them into the LQC family
    2. Attend, serve, and financially support faithfully
    3. Invite others in the community to be our guests
